Questioning the Local Cats is a Side Quest in Echoes of Wisdom.

Overview

Return to Kakariko Village and find the old man, found just northeast of the well in the center of town. He wonders where his cat has run off too and wishes he could ask the other cats in town. He mentions that in order to do so, he needs to have the Cat Clothes, which will begin the quest.

• Complete the Still Missing quest.
• Acquire Grilled Fish Echo
• Acquire Holmill Echo

Walkthrough

• Speak to the man in Kakariko Village found just northeast of the well who is looking for his lost cat.
• He mentions that the woman in front of the Kakariko Village Shop bought the last pair of Cat Clothes, which would give the wearer the ability to speak to cats.
• Speak to the woman outside of the Kakariko Village Shop, at the south end of town. She just bought the Cat Clothes, but she can't wear them as she's not able to get close to cats without sneezing.
• The woman offers to give Zelda the Cat Clothes, in return for a favor. The cat that is sitting by the windmill at the northeast part of town is sitting on a patch of soil. There is something important buried beneath the cat.
• The woman is unable to lure the cat, but thinks Zelda can do so by showing it something the cat likes.
• Make your way over to the cat and use the Grilled Fish Echo to drop a Grilled Fish near the cat. This will lure the cat away from the soil location.
• Then use a Holmill Echo to summon a Holmill on top of the soil location.
• The enemy will burow underground, digging up the Secret Stash. The woman in front of the shop will appear, trading you her Cat Clothes for the Secret Stash.
• Put the cat clothes on and speak to the elderly man again. He tasks Zelda with speaking to some of the village cats to see if they know where his cat has gone.
• If Zelda speaks with the cat that is on top of the windmill at the northwest part of the village, the cat mentions the old man's cat is just outside the east entrance of the village, sleeping in a tree.
• Exit the village to the east and continue along the path until you reach the cave. The cat is in the nearby tree. Speak to the cat to tell it that the elderly man is looking for it. The cat will then head back to the village.
• Return to the old man in the village and he'll reward Zelda with 10 Refreshing Grapes for helping bring his cat home.

Adventure Log

Step	Description
1	An elderly man in Kakariko Village is looking for his cat. You might be able to find her if you get clothes that translate cat speech from the woman in front of the shop.
2	The woman by the shop will give you her cat clothes if you dig up an important item she buried. It's right under where a cat is sitting.
3	The buried item was a stash of rupees, which you exchanged for the cat clothes that can translate cat speech. You should update the elderly man.
4	An elderly man in Kakariko Village asked you to use clothes that let you understand cats' speech to find his missing pet. The village cats may know where his furry friend is.
5	The elderly man's cat friend was in Hyrule Field when you found her. She was hungry, so she went home. Head back to Kakariko Village to check in on her.
Complete	It turned out the missing cat had missed meal time because she overslept. Her companion was relieved to have his beloved cat at home again.
