Tears of the Kingdom

Crystals are large, glowing green rocks. Each is paired to the base of a Shrine of Light, and when the Shrine Quest associated with it is started - by touching either the dragon ring at the shrine base, or the crystal itself - a green laser connects the two, even through walls and other obstacles. Link can use this to guide him in bringing the crystal to the shrine base, whereupon the crystal transforms into the main part of the shrine. The shrine then opens for Link to enter.
