"Hey, newcomer! This is our horseback archery field. After a lot of hard practice and training, we finally have the skill to hit the bull's-eye while riding like the wind! When you finally learn how to ride a horse, you should come back and try it. It's a dangerous sport, but it's fun!"
The Horseback Archery is a mini-game in Ocarina of Time. After freeing the Carpenters from the Gerudo's Fortress and receiving the Gerudo Token, the Horseback Archery Range can finally be accessed where Link can speak to the Gerudo Master who runs the archery game during daytime. She is a skillful Gerudo who holds the highest record in the archery game. She lets Link participate in the archery game for 20 Rupees only if he has Epona.
Link is equipped with 20 arrows before riding through the archery range. If Link shoots at the targets, or the jars on the wooden crates, he gets 100 points. If Link beats 1,000+ points, he is awarded a Piece of Heart. If Link beats the Gerudo Master's personal record of 1,500 points, he is awarded a Quiver upgrade.
