The Mountain Passage is a location in Phantom Hourglass that connects the west and east side of Mercay Island. At the start of the game, the bridge the connects the sides of the island collapses, forcing Link to travel through the Mountain Passage. Link will first need to acquire Oshus's Sword before he can make his way into the cave.
The mountain passage has Link battling some of the most simplistic enemies including Red Chuchu, Keese, and Rats. The passage also has some of games first puzzles, requiring Link to pull levers in the proper order, as well as trapping an enemy Rat that has a small key dangling from its body. The Mountain Passage is also one of the few locations in the game where there are any Ropes, found only when Link pulls the levers in the incorrect order.
