Counselor's Corner (pp. 56-59)
In the Counselor's Corner, a question is answered for The Adventure of Link and two questions are answered for the Legend of Zelda.
Fairy Spell
*Where do I get the Fairy Spell?
In the Harbor Town of Mido, there is a woman who has a daughter that is ill and Link must bring her some Sacred Water. The water is located in a cave well to the west, which can only be entered after acquiring the Hammer. When Link gets the Sacred Water, he can return to Mido and give it to the woman, which will lead to Link learning the Fairy Spell.
In addition to allowing Link to fly over large gaps and reach higher places, the Fairy Spell will also allow Link to pass through locked key doors, even when he doesn't have a key.
Defeating Darknuts and Wizzrobes
*How do I defeat the Darknuts and Wizzrobes?
To defeat the Blue Darknuts in Level Five, the easiest stategy is if Link has full hearts. He can keep his distance and launch sword beam attacks, hitting the Darknuts in their back or sides to deal damage. Nintendo Power also suggests using the doorways as safe spots. The Darknuts will move close to the doorway, but will not be able to walk into them. Link can stand in the doorway and jab at the Darknuts as they walk by.
The Wizzrobes that Link encounters in Level Six will shoot magic towards Link. The Magic Shield can be used to absorb the shock, but Link needs to be careful of enemy Like Likes that are often found alongside Wizzrobes, as they will gobble up Link's shield. Once Wizzrobes appear, they will always be facing towars Link. Link can step aside so he isn't in a direct line of sight and can quickly sneak around, to get an attack in.
Finding the Blue Ring
*Where is the Blue Ring in the Second Quest and how do I get it?
The Blue Ring is found in the Second Quest within the Secret Shop, located at the very far northeast corner of the map. In the first quest, this secret cave house a Moblin who gave Link 100 Rupees. In the screen just south, there is the gambling Money Making Game. From this screen, Link can simply walk up, through a part of the rock wall, traveling to the next screen. Walking through hidden walls like this is common in many of the dungeons within the Second Quest.
