"But if I let something so small get to me, my dear father will scoff at me from beyond the mortal coil.[2]"
Shad's father is a character mentioned in Twilight Princess. He is the father of Shad, a member of The Resistance[3]. Having died before the game's story takes place, he is never seen in-game.
During his lifetime, he worked as a butler for the Royal Family of Hyrule.[1] He also was very interested in the mysterious City in the Sky. For most of his life he researched the city and its inhabitants, the Oocca.[4] Having worked hard trying to find the secrets of the floating city, he passed on numerous manuscripts and notes to his son.[5][6][7] These notes and manuscripts contained information on the Sky Cannon,[8] Sky Writing,[7] and Owl Statues.[5] Shad would inherit not only the information, but a great interest in the City in the Sky[9].
Although he never reached his goal of finding the City in the Sky, he passed on enough information to his son to help Link and Shad discover the Sky Cannon and send Link there.
