Clouds are a meteorological phenomenon which involve small droplets of water being suspended in the air, usually high in the Sky, and often block the view of the sky from the surface or drop rain. In addition to this, they sometimes have other, more solid, purposes in The Legend of Zelda series.

Ocarina of Time

When Link plays the Song of Storms, it generates a thick layer of cloud in the sky - which proceeds to rain - or dispels it if already present. The back of the Kakariko Village Graveyard, near the Shadow Temple, is clouded by default, unusually.

Majora's Mask

The Song of Storms returns and brings cloud just as it did in Ocarina of Time. In addition, it is cloudy and wet in much of Termina on the Second Day.

The Wind Waker

The two frog-like Wind Gods, Cyclos and Zephos, float around in miniature clouds.

Four Swords Adventures

The terrain in The Dark Cloud, the penultimate stage in the game, is mostly made of cloud; while clouds can be seen from above in the Realm of the Heavens stage and outside the Palace of Winds.

The Minish Cap

In the skyborne Cloud Tops region, almost the entire solid ground appears to be made up of cloud, hence the name; although the Wind Tribe are surprised that Link can walk across them. He must fuse Gold Kinstone Pieces with five Mysterious Clouds to start a series windmills, which blows away stagnant cloud and allows him to reach higher areas of the cloud tops. There are also areas of cloud solid enough that Link must dig through them with the Mole Mitts. The entire Tower of Winds is apparently built on cloud.

Cloud Piranha live in the clouds, and may attack those who walk on them, such as Link, while the enemy Lakitu floats around in small, seemingly-solid clouds, which can be stripped away with the Gust Jar.

Skyward Sword

Skyloft sits above a Cloud Barrier in the Sky, which can oddly be seen through from below (albeit without Skyloft or other sky islands being visible) but not from above. The barrier is impassible enough that Link must use the Ancient Tablet inside the Statue of the Goddess to create holes in it to pass through to the surface. In addition, a massive cloud bank known as the Thunderhead exists, and is also solid enough to require a hole to be punched into it by the Light Tower to access.

Breath of the Wild

Weather plays an important part in Breath of the Wild, and a weather forecast - which may show cloud or rain - is available to Link at all times.

A permanent thundercloud sits over Thundra Plateau until the Trial of Thunder Shrine Quest is complete.

Tears of the Kingdom

While the weather report returns from Breath of the Wild, a cloud barrier also forms under Great Sky Island after Rauru's ghost takes Link there to recover, preventing his return to the surface. This is dispelled by the Light Dragon after the completion of The Closed Door Main Quest.

Echoes of Wisdom

Small clouds are present in the Still World in the Stilled Hebra Mountain/Stilled Holy Mount Lanayru rift. These have been "petrified" by the Still World "into something [Zelda] can stand on for a short while". Zelda can scan these with the Tri Rod, and use the resulting Cloud Echo at any time.
