The Pinwheel is an item that appears in The Wind Waker.
The Wind Waker
The Pinwheel is a part of the The Wind Waker Trading Sequence. After Link agrees to help Zunari out with his shop, he can travel to three islands of the Great Sea – Mother and Child Isles, Bomb Island, or Greatfish Isle – in search of Traveling Merchants to trade with. After obtaining the Exotic Flower, he can take it to the merchant on Mother and Child Isles, who will give him a Pinwheel in exchange.[1] Link must also pay 55 Rupees.[2] After, the merchant makes a deal with Zunari, and he will then sell it at his shop on Windfall Island for the same price.[3] In addition, Link can place it in one of the Joy Pedestals found around town for the Joyous Volunteer Association.[4]
Link can then take the Pinwheel to one of the three merchants and make a new trade. The two on Greatfish Isle and Mother and Child Isles will both only give him an Exotic Flower,[5][6] but on Bomb Island he can trade it and 40 Rupees for the Sickle Moon Flag.[7][8]

Trivia
- Like the Skull Tower Idol, the Pinwheel is one of the few items that can only be received from one trade in The Wind Waker Trading Sequence. Because there is only one way to obtain it, it is easy to miss and can be skipped entirely.
