Forest Temple

The Forest Temple is the first adult temple, fourth dungeon overall, in Ocarina of Time.

Gaining Entrance

In order to access the Sacred Forest Meadow[1] in the Lost Woods where the dungeon is located, Link must obtain the Hookshot from Kakariko Village Graveyard.[2]

Dungeon Overview

The Forest Temple has a dark and eerie vibe to it. The item obtained is the Fairy Bow. The dungeon requires Link to hunt down the Poe Sisters after they hid their flames. Once he defeats them, the hero will gain access to the basement where dungeon's boss, Phantom Ganon, is found. After Link vanquishes the evil Phantom, Saria then awakens as the Sage of the Forest and bestows the Forest Medallion unto him.[3]

Gold Skulltulas

  • #50: In the first room, climb the vines on the right side. Use the Hookshot to defeat the Gold Skulltula.

  • #52: In the courtyard northeast of the central room, there is a treasure chest on a higher ledge. Use the Hookshot to latch on to the front of the chest, pulling Link up to the higher ledge. From here, find the Skulltula right around the corner.

  • #53: When Link enters the other courtyard northwest of the central room, jump over to the narrow platform with recovery hearts. From there, look up against the wall to spot the Gold Skulltula.
