This article is about the ice-themed Lizalfos in Breath of the Wild. For the high-level standard Lizalfos which shares a similar colour scheme, see Silver Lizalfos..

"These quick-witted, lizard-like monsters can be found all over Hyrule. The balls of ice they spit make them particularly troublesome, but exposure to fire will kill them instantly. Their homes are mainly on snowy mountains."

— Hyrule Compendium entry[1]

Ice-Breath Lizalfos are enemies which appear in Breath of the Wild, Age of Calamity and Tears of the Kingdom.

Breath of the Wild

Ice-Breath Lizalfos have the unique ability of shooting out balls of ice from their mouth, and if these balls come into contact with Link, they will freeze him, leaving him vulnerable to other attacks. Link can avoid taking damage from ice attacks if he has acquired the Snowquill Set and upgraded all three pieces to two-star rank or higher, giving it the Unfreezable set bonus. This is also bestowed by the DLC Zant's Helmet armor piece.

Ice Lizalfos will often hide themselves within the snow, camouflaging themselves with the white environment, making it hard for Link to see them. Due to their ice-nature, they are very vulnerable to fire based attacks. Link can defeat one of these enemies instantly with a single short from any fire-based weapon. This includes Fire Arrows, Bomb Arrows, any fire elemental melee weapon, and even a lit Torch. Though they are shown to hesitate to touch it (as they are aquatic creatures to begin with), Ice Lizalfos may also sublimate and die when touching thermal waters.

When defeated, these enemies they will drop an Icy Lizalfos Tail, along with a chance of basic Lizalfos spoils, including a Lizalfos Horn and Lizalfos Talon.

These Lizalfos are found exclusively in cold areas within Hyrule, notably in the Gerudo Highlands, the Hebra province, and near Mount Lanayru in the Lanayru Range. While these Lizalfos can wield a variety of weapons, they most commonly are found with Lizal Boomerangs or a Forked Lizal Spear.

Ice-Breath Lizalfos have a health of 288, which matches that of their Fire-Breath Lizalfos, Electric Lizalfos, and Black Lizalfos counterparts.

Age of Calamity

Ice-Breath Lizalfos in Age of Calamity are ice variants of the Lizalfos. They first appear during the Revali, the Rito Warrior scenario. They will occasionally drop a Lizalfos Horn, Lizalfos Talon, or an Icy Lizalfos Tail when defeated. After each Ice-Breath Lizalfos is defeated, the player will receive a Lizalfos Trophy, which can be used to complete quests or upgrade weapons of the various warriors.
