Sheikah[citation needed] is a written language seen in Breath of the Wild, associated with the Sheikah race.
The language is a simple mono-alphabetic substitution cipher from English, and can therefore be easily translated.
Breath of the Wild
The Sheikah have their own writing system comprised of symbols, which dates back at least ten thousand years to the construction of the Divine Beasts. This writing can be found in Shrines, Sheikah Towers and on the Sheikah Slate, amongst in other places.
Along with this, the Sheikah of modern-day Hyrule are likely to have knowledge of this writing or they still use it, as Impa and Paya can decipher the writing on the Sheikah heirloom.
