Dodongo is a boss encountered in Snake's Remains, the second dungeon in Oracle of Seasons. Like its predecessor, it is a slow, brown Triceratops with spikes running along the top of its body.
Strategy
Once Link has entered the room, Dodongo will try to slowly move around the Spiked Floor in the middle of the room towards him. It will start attacking Link by either charging at him or by breathing out fireballs. These attacks can be easily avoided by simply moving out of the way. He should be also careful not to move onto the Spiked Floor.
Unlike most bosses in Oracle of Seasons, Link cannot use the sword to harm Dodongo. He must use bombs to stun it and grab him with the dungeon item (the Power Bracelet), then throw it onto the spiked floor to harm it. If Link has run out of bombs, he can replenish his supply by slashing the grass in the four corners of the room. Dodongo will momentarily open its mouth while wondering around the room, trying to breathe out a series of fireballs in Link's direction. When this happens, Link should toss a bomb into its mouth, making Dodongo eat the bomb. When the bomb explodes, it will inflate Dodongo, and it will be unable to move for a short time. With the strength from the Power Bracelet, Link can then pick it up and throw the boss onto the Spiked Floor.
After being damaged, Dodongo will try to ram into Link. After being thrown onto the Spiked Floor a total of four times, Dodongo will be defeated. Once Link defeats Dodongo, he is rewarded with a Heart Container and the second Essence of Nature, the Gift of Time.
