The Money Making Game is a mini-game from The Legend of Zelda.[1] When Link participates, he is shown three Rupees in front of him to pick one of them. Picking one of them results in either a lose of more Rupees or a gain of Rupees. There will always be one prize that gives Link Rupees, either +50 or +20, and two prizes that take away some of his Rupees. One will always be -10 Rupees, and the other has equal odds of being -10 or -40.
Six Money Making Games can be found throughout Hyrule, but one of them can only be played in the Second Quest, and requires the Flute to enter the game. The Money Making Game is operated by the Old Man.
Location: Northeast corner.
Conditions: None.
- This is the most commonly used location, but it's pretty far from the start screen. There's also not much around, so it's not the best location.
- From start screen head right eight, up four, left one, up one, left one, and right two. There is nothing required to enter this location; just enter the Tree Stump.
Location: One screen left of start screen.
Conditions: After obtaining the Bombs.
- This one is the closest to the start screen, so it's a good choice to use if you need some easy cash.
- Head left from the start screen. Place a bomb against the top wall to reveal it.
Location: South Central Hyrule.
Conditions: After obtaining the Bombs.
- This one is close to many shops, so it's a good place to save up rupees if you're looking to buy something.
- From the start screen head right five and place a bomb against the top wall.
Location: North Central Desert.
Conditions: After obtaining the Bombs.

Location: Southwest corner.
Conditions: After obtaining the Recorder.
- This location is Second Quest only, and is not close to any other location.
- From the start screen, head up one, left five, up one, down one on the left path, left one, through the Lost Woods and left one. Play the recorder to reveal a staircase.
