The Horizontal Slice is a basic attack found in several Legend of Zelda titles.
The Wind Waker
In The Wind Waker, the horizontal slice is one of the many sword techniques taught to Link by Orca during the Sword Training. It is the first attack learned and it is performed by simply pressing 'B' without targeting your opponent.[1]
