A Mau, also known as a Wolf Head, is an enemy that appears exclusively in The Adventure of Link.

Mau are animated wolf-headed statues that decorate the walls of the Island Palace, Maze Island Palace, Palace on the Sea and Three-Eye Rock Palace. They move slowly up and down in patterns through the air while shooting beams at Link. Mau are incredibly frail and defeated with a single attack regardless of Link's attack level. Contact with Mau causes Link to lose 10 experience points.
