Link will encounter Tingle, who is floating above a stump, high upon some cliffs in the [[Forest of Time]], located south-east of [[Lynna City]]. At first, Link cannot scale the cliffs alone. It will be later, after completing the [[Wing Dungeon]], that Link will meet up with the boxing kangaroo, [[Ricky]], around this same area. After finding Ricky's lost [[Ricky's Gloves|Boxing Gloves]], Link will get to ride in Ricky's pouch.

In a [[Linked Game]] of ''Oracle of Seasons'', Link will encounter the [[Woods of Winter Great Fairy]], located just east of [[Snake's Remains]]. The Fairy will give Link the [[Tingle Secret]], which Link can bring back to Tingle in ''Oracle of Ages''. After telling Tingle the secret, Tingle will increase Link Seed Satchel capacity again, this time upgrading it to 99 different seeds. Tingle will then give Link a secret, which Link can take to [[Farore]] in [[Holodrum]], so that he can get the seed satchel there as well.

In ''[[The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker|The Wind Waker]]'', Tingle is first seen imprisoned in the [[Town Jail]] at [[Windfall Island]]. He is imprisoned as he is believed to have stolen [[Lenzo]]'s [[Pictograph]].{{Ref|They caught the scoundrel, yet my possession remains outside my grasp. Tingle has a large role in multiplayer games. In each [[Hyrulean Adventure]] level there is a [[Tingle's Tower]], where eight minigames are available to play. Additionally, there is a setting known as "Time-up Tingle" that is on by default, which discourages remaining in the same room for 10 minutes.{{Ref|''[[The Legend of Zelda: Four Swords Adventures|Four Swords Adventures]]'' manual|If Time-up Tingle is set to 'Yes,' Tingle appears if you linger on the same screen for too long.|pg. 25}} After 9 minutes and 30 seconds, the Links receive a 30 second warning for Time-up Tingle, followed by a note that they have a "bad feeling", and finally a 5 second countdown.{{Ref|FSA|323|In-game description}}{{Ref|FSA|324|In-game description}} At the end of the countdown, Tingle appears along with a red [[Ankle]], [[Knuckle]], and an army of [[David Jr.]] look-alikes and steals 300 Force Gems from all players.{{Ref|FSA|325|In-game description}} This can even force the Links into negative Force Gem numbers. Time-up Tingle can even occur multiple times in the same room if the Links linger long enough, but every time they enter a new room it resets the timer.
