Yammo is a character found in Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom.
Breath of the Wild
Yammo is a wandering merchant who can be found walking alone on the path from the Tabantha Bridge Stable, to the Serenne Stable, and all the way to the Snowfield Stable. She will then turn back around and make the long trip all the way back to the Tabantha Bridge Stable. She wields a Traveler's Sword and an Emblazoned Shield. Despite having a sword and shield, Yammo will run away if any enemies appear. If Link fights them off, Yammo will thank Link, rewarding him with a meal.[1]
Yammo sells basic items, such as Tabantha Wheat and Hylian Rice.[2][3] She also has some less common items, such as Goat Butter and Bird Eggs. However, whenever it is raining outside she will have a rainy day special, where she will sell the more uncommon Cane Sugar and Goron Spice.[4] Yammo is a very gracious merchant, who thanks Link for stopping by and making any purchases.[5][6][7]
When encountered near the Hyrule Ridge, Yammo will ask Link about any metal gear that he has. She mentions that thunderstorms are common in the area and that if Link hears any rumbling, he should unequip any of his metal gear.[8][9]

Tears of the Kingdom
Yammo can be found hiding in a cabin in the southwest of the Tabantha Hills with Jogo. They were heading to Hebra in search of a rumored legendary shield surfer when the blizzard began.[10][11] After the blizzard subsided, Yammo and Jogo continued hiding in the cabin as Bokoblins had settled down directly next to the cabin. Saving Yammo and Jogo from their assailants is the primary objective of a Side Quest named Open the Door.
When Link first arrives and tries to enter the door, Jogo is reluctant to allow anybody in. Yammo wonder who it could be and doesn't suspect anybody would come to help them with all the monsters around.[12] After Link clears the enemies, Yammo mentions that she can't hear them anymore and advises Jogo to open the door.[13][14]
As a reward for helping them out, Yammo will give Link a Spicy Elixir. She doesn't quite think that award is enough, so she decides that she'll teach Link a little bit about Shield Surfing.[15][16] She offers Link the Traveler's Shield that is sitting in the cabin.[17]
