The Wind Waker
The Hero's Sword is the first sword that Link acquires in The Wind Waker. After the Helmaroc King appears on Outset Island and drops Tetra down into the Forest of Fairies, Link will set off to investigate. He will need a sword in order to cut his way through the bushes to reach the forest. At this point, Link can speak with Orca to take part in his Sword Training. After mastering the basic skills, Link is given the Hero's Sword.
