Echoes of Wisdom
The Tri Rod causes objects which can be scanned to learn echoes to shimmer. Enemies do not shimmer directly, but after Zelda defeats an enemy for the first time, a shimmer is left behind. Zelda is able to examine the Shimmer to learn the echo of the enemy that was just destroyed.[1] If Zelda does not collect the echo, a Shimmer will be left behind the first time that enemy is defeated in a new location. When identical enemies which Zelda has not yet learned as an echo are defeated simultaneously, multiple Shimmers will appear, but examining one will cause the others to disappear.
