Games I like
wip
I feel that a lot of modern games take a slower and more cinematic approach to things, but I like games that feel game-y, so I tend to play a lot of older stuff. My favorite series' are Half-Life, Pokemon, Earthbound, Team Fortress, Fallout, and Elder Scrolls.

The Gerudo are a recurring race in The Legend of Zelda series. They are in stark contrast to the other races of Hyrule for the fact that virtually all of them are female. It is only once per century that a Gerudo male is born, the only known example of which being Ganondorf. This unusual facet of their biology, along with their desirable status among Hylian males, has produced a very distinct society in which men are simultaneously revered and despised.

Gerudo culture is further shaped by their affinities for both combat and thievery—skills in the former being especially prized, but desirability of the latter having diminished over time. They live predominantly in desert areas and have likewise become adept at traversing them, though they frequently travel elsewhere in search of worthy husbands.
The Zora are a recurring race in The Legend of Zelda series. They are a bipedal, fish-like, and aquatic species that are capable of inhabiting the water as well as the land, though they favor the former. Two varieties are known to exist, those being the River Zora and the Sea Zora, and are of vast difference from one other in regards to appearance and temperament. Though named for their most frequented habitat, both types seem to be comfortable whether in saltwater or in freshwater.

The Sea Zora are the more amicable of the two variants. They are usually of a tall and slender build and their complexion can vary between blue, white, green, red, and pink—with blue being the predominant coloring in earlier depictions. Their bodies are adorned by a number of fins and their heads with a dolphin-like fluke. In most Zelda series entries, the Sea Zora occupy Zora's Domain and are subjects of the monarchy. They moreover enjoy positive relations with the other races of Hyrule.

The River Zora, though sometimes well-disposed, are most often violent toward those that they encounter, being more akin to monsters in many of their Zelda series portrayals. They are green in color and sport a long dorsal fin running down their backsides. More fins outline the face and their teeth are large and sharp. River Zora utilize fireballs projected from their sizable mouths to attack, often doing so from the water, where they are able to keep their distance from the enemy.

Throughout the Zelda series, the Gerudo are always depicted as a dark-skinned, red-haired race of females that don long, sharp noses.
The Legend of Zelda
River Zora#The Legend of Zelda
River Zora debuted in The Legend of Zelda. They are hostile creatures that are only capable of appearing in areas with water. They are tricky to combat by way of continuously ducking in and out of the water whilst shooting fireballs toward Link, resurfacing in different positions after each cycle. It is of less risk and most efficiency to make use of ranged weapons when dispatching Zoras, but it is possible to slay them with a sword if one happens near the shores of the water. The Magical Shield is very helpful in this approach, as it can block the Zoras' projectiles.

Female Gerudo make their debut in Ocarina of Time. They are encountered only within their homeland of Gerudo Valley, in which most occupy the Gerudo's Fortress. They harbor much disdain towards men, though they are said to sometimes venture into Castle Town in search of boyfriends.OoT They initially extend this resentment to Link, but he is able to earn their respect once he proves to them his impressive thieving skills.OoT
In The Adventure of Link, River Zora inhabit Eastern Hyrule. Unlike its predecessor They are among some of the most dangerous enemies Link will encounter and are capable of dealing large amounts of damage. They attack by projecting beams toward Link, which may be blocked with the shield. They are completely immune to sword attacks, and the only method of eliminating them is to utilize the Fire Spell.

A Link to the Past
The Gerudo are depicted as a fairly malicious group in Ocarina of Time. It seems they carry a bad reputation among Hylians in particular, some of whom can even be frightened by the Gerudo Mask if worn in their vicinity. The Gerudo are implicated in the destruction of a bridge that was built by the Carpenters, most of whom they later imprison. Furthermore, it seems that most Gerudo do indeed swear allegiance to their king, Ganondorf. To what lengths their allegiance goes is unknown, however, as their admiration for him is only touched upon briefly.OoT
River Zora appear again in A Link to the Past and may be encountered at Zora's Waterfall or Lake Hylia. Most are similar in appearance to and behave in a way that is identical to those seen in The Legend of Zelda—spontaneously diving, then reappearing in another position and shooting a fireball. Link can block these projectiles with the Red Shield or the Mirror Shield. Some Zora have the ability to emerge from the water, engaging Link in a more conventional combat scenario.

Notable Gerudo
One notable individual is King Zora, whom resides in Zora's Waterfall. He is in possession of the Flippers, which he will sell to Link for the price of five-hundred rupees.
Second within the Gerudo chain of command is Nabooru, junior only to Ganondorf himself. While her position may seem indicative of where her loyalties lie, Nabooru is actually in strong opposition to Ganondorf's aspirations. She assists Link during his foray into the Desert Colossus and is later awakened as the Sage of Spirit.

Another prominent, albeit unnamed, individual is the Gerudo Warrior, allegedly put in charge by Nabooru during her leave of absence. She grants Link the Gerudo Token as a show of respect, very much impressed by his successful infiltration of the Gerudo Fortress.
Link's Awakening
The River Zora appear again in Link's Awakening as enemies inhabiting the water areas such as Martha's Bay. There is only one friendly Zora in the game that can be found in Animal Village. He can only be seen with the Magnifying Lens in the house in the northeast of the village. When Link talks to him, the Photographer appears and takes a picture of the pair.

Ocarina of Time
Gerudo Pirate

In Majora's Mask, the term "Gerudo" is rarely used, most of Termina's residents instead opting for the colloquial term of "pirate." These Terminian Gerudo exhibit a malevolent and xenophobic nature much the same as their Hyrulean counterparts. They inhabit the Pirate's Fortress located within Great Bay, and are implicated in the theft of Lulu's eggs.
Ocarina of Time is the first game that Sea Zora make an appearance. Their main habitat is Zora's Domain, near Zora's River. They are ruled by King Zora XVI. When Link arrives at their domain in search of the next Spiritual Stone, the Zora's Sapphire, he finds that King Zora's daughter, Princess Ruto, has gone missing. Link finds a letter from her in a bottle that says she is inside of Lord Jabu-Jabu's belly. Link rescues her, and she gives him the Spiritual Stone as a reward.

Four Swords Adventures
Seven years into the future, after Link withdraws the Master Sword, he visits Zora's Domain and discovers that it is completely frozen over. After traversing the Ice Cavern, he obtains the Iron Boots and enters the Water Temple. In there, he finds Ruto, and once he defeats Morpha, she becomes the Sage of Water.
In Four Swords Adventures, the Gerudo inhabit Gerudo Village within the Desert of Doubt, having left their previous home in the Gerudo Desert around the time that the events of Twilight Princess occurred. They are depicted as having become aware of the suffering they caused in the past—denouncing the actions of their former king, Ganondorf—and now wish to make amends with the Hylians. Furthermore, Ganondorf's own presence has failed to sway them, remaining firm that he has broken the law by embarking on his quest to steal the Trident.

Majora's Mask
Zora in Majora's Mask are found in the Great Bay region of Termina. There are several normal Zora living in the area; however, there is also a popular Zora rock band called The Indigo-Go's. Like the Deku and Goron races, there is a mask allowing Link to turn into a Zora.

[[File:Danda.jpg|thumb|250px|
Danda, a Gerudo elder
]]
The Indigo-Go's
The Indigo-Go's
The Indigo-Go's are a Zora rock band exclusive to Majora's Mask. It consists of Mikau (guitar), Evan (piano), Japas (bass), Lulu (vocals), and Tijo (drums). The manager is Toto.

[[File:Teake.jpg|thumb|250px|
Teake, a Gerudo Captain of Guards
]]
Zora Mask
Zora Mask
One of Link's four transformation masks is the Zora Mask. After playing the Song of Healing to Mikau on the shores of Great Bay, his spirit gets turned into a mask. When Link wears said mask, he turns into the Zora guitarist himself. The mask not only allows Link to become a Zora but also to have the abilities of one as well. He can swim fast in water and attacks with the fins on his arms. His musical instrument to replace the Ocarina of Time is known as the Guitar of Waves.

In Breath of the Wild, the identity of the Gerudo has been expanded upon significantly. Their name is lent to the province of Gerudo as well as its principal community, Gerudo Town, in which lives the highest concentration of Gerudo in Hyrule. Since last appearing in the series, the nomadic nature that is characteristic to the race has seemingly developed even further. Gerudo women are found to be wandering in all parts of Hyrule, many times with the aim of selling their wares to, or trading with, distant customers. Due to the lack of Gerudo males, however, it is more typically the case that they are on quests in search of the perfect mate. This will often take a significant portion of the Gerudo's life, and some are never able to find their true love.
Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages
The Zora race inhabits the seas south of the areas known as the Fairies' Woods in the Present and the Deku Forest in the Past. They live under the water in Zora Village, appropriately within the Zora Seas. Unlike the River Zoras, who protrude from various waters and shoot fireballs at Link, the Sea Zora are a gentle race of a more human-like appearance and intelligence.

It is by this time that the Gerudo's status as that of a band of thieves seems to have greatly diminished. They are held in good economic and social affluence among the other races of Hyrule, including the Hylians, who once feared them. Proficiency in combat is still seen as a very valuable trait, as is tradition, but seems to now hold a similar value to that of merchantry and worldliness.
Link ventures to Zora Village after completing the Mermaid's Cave and obtaining the Mermaid Suit, which allows him to swim and breathe underwater. Upon traveling to the past age of Zora Village, Link finds that because of the pollution that fills the seas, thanks to Veran, King Zora has become very ill. In order to save King Zora's life, Link must bring him some Potion. King Zora rewards Link by giving him the key to the Eyeglass Island Library, where Link then obtains the Fairy Powder, use it to return the Fairy Queen to her former self, and ultimately have her to cleanse the seas of all the pollution. These acts gain Link the trust of King Zora to enter their deity Lord Jabu-Jabu, which is actually the location of the seventh dungeon and Essence of Time.

Physiology
Once Link obtains the seventh Essence, he is given the Zora Scale for all he has done for the Zora people. This scale allows Link to enter the Sea of Storms, located just east of Zora Village, and leads to the eighth dungeon and final Essence of Time.
The Gerudo take on a very physically imposing appearance in Breath of the Wild. While individuals in previous depictions are shown to be of an average height and build when compared to the other human races, Gerudo in Breath of the Wild are much larger all-around. Adults regularly grow to heights well above eight feet, and even those that are not fighters by trade are remarkably muscular. These attributes do tend to fade with age, however, much like one would expect. Their ears appear to have become more pointed over time, resembling those of a Hylian. Most attest this to the many generations of intermingling between the two races. However, others perceive it to be a gift from the gods—the Gerudo's ears having been supposedly opened to hearing divine messages.

Breath of the Wild further marks the debut of Gerudo young, whom feature very noticeably different proportions from that of their adult counterparts. The Gerudo, usually striking for their distinctive noses and shapely midriffs, seem to take many years before fully developing into them. Riju, a Gerudo adolescent, sports a much smaller nose than those of the adults around her.
Clear

The Gerudo are known to possess an innate tolerance of extreme temperatures, hot or cold, probably due to their storied history of living in deserts. The volcanic heat of the Eldin Province, however, is too much to bear, requiring the use of Elixirs.
The Wind Waker
There is only one Zora in The Wind Waker: Laruto, the Sage of Earth. She was killed by Ganondorf to prevent her from praying to keep the power to repel evil in the Master Sword. Her spirit remains in the Earth Temple until Link plays the Earth God's Lyric. She tells him to go and find her descendant, a Rito girl named Medli.

Culture and Customs
Eiji Aonuma has said that the Rito are the evolved form of the Zora. The Rito make many references to the Zora, such as the symbol of the Zora's Sapphire appearing on clothing, but the most convincing fact is that Medli shares a bloodline with a Zora, Laruto.
The Gerudo are known for their pride and exuberance, leading to a somewhat stubborn nature towards other Hyrulean races—though they are on more amicable terms with said peoples than as depicted previously. In terms of romantic prospects, they have only ever been shown in pairings with Hylians, and it is unknown as to whether the Gerudo are compatible with Rito or Goron partners. Gorons in particular may not be suitable mates, as suggested by their toleration within Gerudo Town, where men are typically denied entry. One Goron, Strade, remarks that he is unsure of why he is allowed admittance.

Desert survival is an aspect in which the Gerudo excel. They are quite comfortable in the heat, and display advanced methods of traversing over sand. This is primarily demonstrated through their use of domesticated Sand Seals, which also provide a means of entertainment in the form of Sand Seal Racing. The Gerudo in Breath of the Wild are also known to derive pleasure from lounging about at The Noble Canteen, a bar famous for its signature drink.
Clear

In terms of dress, typical Gerudo wear bright colors and intricate patterns. Their clothing is fashioned to be light and minimal, often leaving the midriff and shoulders uncovered, so as to be better suited for desert living. Those whose livelihood is as fighters may sport shin guards and facemasks, and elders commonly wear shortcoats. Jewelry is popular among all walks of life, the many varieties of which includes earrings and hair dressings.
Twilight Princess
In Twilight Princess, the Zora once more are a peaceful race residing in Zora's Domain, near Lake Hylia. When Link first arrives, their home is covered in ice, but he can easily unfreeze it with a large volcanic rock from Death Mountain. The Zora were ruled by Queen Rutela until her death, when her son, Prince Ralis, was supposed to take over. Link finds Prince Ralis in Castle Town, where Ilia is trying to save him from sickness. Queen Rutela's ghost asks Link to save her son, so he guides Ralis, Telma, and Ilia across Hyrule Field to Kakariko Village. Once Ralis is safe, Rutela gives Link the Zora Armor in the Graveyard.
Clear

The Gerudo chiefdom follows a matrilineal hereditary succession system with no male influence, and it is not known what status, if any, the Chief's husband holds, though it is assumed to be completely negligible. The current Chief of the Gerudo as of Breath of the Wild is Makeela Riju.
A Link Between Worlds
Only River Zora appear in A Link Between Worlds. Some are hostile and some are not. The non-hostile Zora wear capes. The Zora Queen, Queen Oren, is a sage. Also, a Shady Guy steals the Smooth Gem from her pool, causing her to swell. Link needs to purchase the Smooth Gem for 200 Rupees at Kakariko Village and return it to the pool. Queen Oren will then give Link the Zora's Flippers.

Language
Breath of the Wild
Though the Gerudo speak to visitors in Hylian, they have their own language and often use certain terms when speaking to travelers. They recommend that travelers learn a few words to help with their visit to Gerudo Town:

*Sav'orq: good-bye
*Sarqso: thank you
*Vai: woman
*Voe: man

The Great Fairy Tera, who dwells in the Gerudo Great Skeleton sometimes welcomes Link to her fountain while using these expressions.
In Breath of the Wild, the Zora are first encountered as searching for a Hylian due to Divine Beast Vah Ruta causing heavy rainfall around Zora's Domain. Link meets Prince Sidon who asks him to come to Zora's Domain. There, Link is told of his past with Zora Champion Mipha the Zora Champion, before he goes to free Vah Ruta. He is given the Zora Armor by King Dorephan before going to the East Reservoir Lake to the Divine Beast. After freeing the Divine Beast, Dorephan and Muzu give Link a Chest containing the Lightscale Trident, which once belonged to Mipha.

Gerudo Weapons and Armor
The Zora do not have much more of a part to play in the game, but there are several side quests that can be completed at Zora's Domain. The Zora in Breath of the Wild have a more fish-like appearance. King Dorephan has a whale-like appearance. Sidon and Mipha have a fish-like appearance.
In addition to being strong warriors, the Gerudo also make many weapons that are specifically designed to match Gerudo training techniques.

Their weapons and armor include:

I'm a guy who just enjoys writing stuff and the sensation of typing. I got into Zelda probably a lot later than most people here and my favorite is OoT. Zelda Dungeon has since been my preferred choice for walkthroughs, so I was naturally drawn to its wiki whenever I needed more info on something. I noticed that a lot of articles could use some work, so I decided to give back a bit.

I'm new to editing so please be nice to me!!

Below might be what I'm workin on

Zora

The Legend of Zelda

Main article: River Zora (The Legend of Zelda)

River Zora debuted in The Legend of Zelda. They are hostile creatures that are only capable of appearing in areas with water. They are tricky to combat by way of continuously ducking in and out of the water whilst shooting fireballs toward Link, resurfacing in different positions after each cycle. It is of less risk and most efficiency to make use of ranged weapons when dispatching Zoras, but it is possible to slay them with a sword if one happens near the shores of the water. The Magical Shield is very helpful in this approach, as it can block the Zoras' projectiles.

The Adventure of Link

Main article: River Zora (The Adventure of Link)

In The Adventure of Link, River Zora inhabit Eastern Hyrule. Unlike its predecessor They are among some of the most dangerous enemies Link will encounter and are capable of dealing large amounts of damage. They attack by projecting beams toward Link, which may be blocked with the shield. They are completely immune to sword attacks, and the only method of eliminating them is to utilize the Fire Spell.

A Link to the Past

"Like Poseidon in his day, Zora ruled the waterways of Hyrule, controlling storm and calm, current and waterfall. Zora's Spawn answered only to him, and he determined who would use the Whirlpools that carried swimmers from place to place. Zora's special Flippers let swimmers tread in even the deepest waters, but they cost deeply."

One notable individual is King Zora, whom resides in Zora's Waterfall. He is in possession of the Flippers, which he will sell to Link for the price of five-hundred rupees.

King Zora has a round and much bigger form than other Zora

Ocarina of Time is the first game that Sea Zora make an appearance. Their main habitat is Zora's Domain, near Zora's River. They are ruled by King Zora XVI. When Link arrives at their domain in search of the next Spiritual Stone, the Zora's Sapphire, he finds that King Zora's daughter, Princess Ruto, has gone missing. Link finds a letter from her in a bottle that says she is inside of Lord Jabu-Jabu's belly. Link rescues her, and she gives him the Spiritual Stone as a reward.

The Indigo-Go's

The Indigo-Go's are a Zora rock band exclusive to Majora's Mask. It consists of Mikau (guitar), Evan (piano), Japas (bass), Lulu (vocals), and Tijo (drums). The manager is Toto.

Zora Mask

Main article: Zora Mask

One of Link's four transformation masks is the Zora Mask. After playing the Song of Healing to Mikau on the shores of Great Bay, his spirit gets turned into a mask. When Link wears said mask, he turns into the Zora guitarist himself. The mask not only allows Link to become a Zora but also to have the abilities of one as well. He can swim fast in water and attacks with the fins on his arms. His musical instrument to replace the Ocarina of Time is known as the Guitar of Waves.

Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages

Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages Zora

The Zora race inhabits the seas south of the areas known as the Fairies' Woods in the Present and the Deku Forest in the Past. They live under the water in Zora Village, appropriately within the Zora Seas. Unlike the River Zoras, who protrude from various waters and shoot fireballs at Link, the Sea Zora are a gentle race of a more human-like appearance and intelligence.

Once Link obtains the seventh Essence, he is given the Zora Scale for all he has done for the Zora people. This scale allows Link to enter the Sea of Storms, located just east of Zora Village, and leads to the eighth dungeon and final Essence of Time.

The Wind Waker

Laruto, the only Zora in The Wind Waker

There is only one Zora in The Wind Waker: Laruto, the Sage of Earth. She was killed by Ganondorf to prevent her from praying to keep the power to repel evil in the Master Sword. Her spirit remains in the Earth Temple until Link plays the Earth God's Lyric. She tells him to go and find her descendant, a Rito girl named Medli.

Eiji Aonuma has said that the Rito are the evolved form of the Zora. The Rito make many references to the Zora, such as the symbol of the Zora's Sapphire appearing on clothing, but the most convincing fact is that Medli shares a bloodline with a Zora, Laruto.

Twilight Princess

Twilight Princess Zora

Breath of the Wild

"The Zora are an aquatic race who live in the pure, bountiful waters of Lanayru. They have fish-like fins and uniquely colored scales. They excel at swimming and water-based activities, but that also makes them vulnerable to electricity. They have their own royal family that goes back countless generations and unifies the people. Compared to other Hyrulean races, the Zora age slowly and are extremely long lived. That is why there are so many Zora still alive who experienced the Great Calamity firsthand."

The Zora do not have much more of a part to play in the game, but there are several side quests that can be completed at Zora's Domain. The Zora in Breath of the Wild have a more fish-like appearance. King Dorephan has a whale-like appearance. Sidon and Mipha have a fish-like appearance.
