"Magic Bottle
Link should pick up four Magic Bottles during his quest. They are extremely important to have. These are the containers in which Magic Potion is stored. The Bottles are very durable and will not crack or shatter under any circumstances."
Bottles, also known as Empty Bottles and Magic Bottles, are recurring items in The Legend of Zelda series.
Medicine
Bottles are never actually used in The Legend of Zelda, Link's Awakening (Game Boy)/The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX, Phantom Hourglass, Spirit Tracks and Breath of the Wild. However, in all these games, Link obtains Medicine or Elixir which is stored in a Bottle. Once drunk, the Bottle disappears from Link's inventory.
Usage
Bottles have been a staple item in most Zelda games since A Link to the Past. Link can use Bottles to store Potions or Fairies inside them. Link usually obtains Bottles from the main quest, and the rest are obtained through side quests.
Potions
Potions can be stored inside Link's Bottles for later use. They have multiple uses, all of them restorative.
Fairies
Fairies can be stored in Bottles as well, and releasing them has the effect of the Fairies using their healing magic on Link. In the Switch version of Link's Awakening, the only item that can be stored in bottles are Fairies.
Miscellaneous Items
Link can store strange things in Bottles that aren't exactly meant to be... healthy. In Ocarina of Time, Link can store Bugs in Bottles and release them in specific areas to obtain Rupees or Gold Skulltulas. Link can also store Poes, which can be sold to the Poe Collector. If Link drinks them, they usually hurt him, but sometimes heal him.

Trivia
- In Ocarina of Time, Link can use a Bottle to bounce back Ganondorf's energy balls in Dead Man's Volley instead of his Sword. He can also do the same thing with Phantom Ganon in The Wind Waker.
- In Majora's Mask, Link must put the Deku Princess in a Bottle.
