River Devil is an enemy that appeared in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
Appearances
The Adventure of Link
The River Devil is an enemy that act more as an obstacle rather than an actual enemy. This blackened, spider-like creature blocks the single road that connects the northern and southern parts of Hyrule. The residents of the Town of Nabooru are fear of this creature.[1] The only way to pass him is to play the Flute that can be found in the Ocean Palace.[2][3] After Link plays the Flute, the River Devil will disappear and Link can continue in his quest.
Trivia
- In the Japanese 'Famicom Disk System' version of this game, the River Devil had a different sprite. In this version, they have a brown skin and known as "The Monster."
