It can only be found during the [[Near the Fields]] level in the stage [[The Field]]. After bringing [[Malon]] back to her home, her father, [[Talon]], allows the [[Link (Four Swords Adventures)|Link]]s to use his horse.{{Ref|FSA|996|Talon}} Just east of their house, the Links can find a sign that offers carrots.{{Ref|FSA|1000|Sign}} If they agree to take one, they receive the carrot inside of a [[Crystal Ball (Four Swords Adventures)|crystal ball]] that they must break to obtain the item.{{Ref|FSA|1001|In-Game Description}} If they break the crystal ball and pick up the carrot, [[Epona]] appears for a limited time, making them temporarily invincible.{{Ref|FSA|383|In-Game Text}} The amount of time is extended and they momentarily go faster whenever they pick up another carrot. More carrots can be found in the grass nearby.
