In Majora's Mask, after the Kokiri Sword has been upgraded to the Razor Sword, Link can have it upgraded again to the Gilded Sword. To do so, Link must obtain Gold Dust by finishing the Goron Race in first-place, then make the payment at the Mountain Smithy before 6:00 AM on the Final Day. If Link is successful, he will leave the Razor Sword at the Smithy, and can come back the next day to receive the Gilded Sword.
The Gilded Sword features a golden blade with a metal frame, leaving three diamond shapes exposing the gold; The grip features the same design (albeit with a red frame), and the sword also features a white pommel and an ornate, metal cross-guard. It deals triple damage compared to the Kokiri Sword, and has a greater reach. In addition, the Gilded Sword will not break after a certain number of slashes or when playing the Song of Time, making the upgrade permanent.

The Gilded Sword is an upgraded version of the Razor Sword and is only attainable after acquiring Gold Dust. Link can enter the Mountain Smithy and ask to have the Kokiri Sword upgraded for a fee of 100 Rupees. After doing this, Link must venture to the site of the Goron Races while wearing the Goron Mask and win the race. When this is done, he will be rewarded Gold Dust, which can be used to upgrade the Razor Sword to the Gilded Sword.
