"You got the Captain's Hat! Wear it with (C)."
The Captain's Hat is one of the 24 Masks in Majora's Mask.
In Ikana Graveyard, Link finds Captain Keeta in his dormant state. To awaken him, Link must play the Sonata of Awakening, which causes Captain Keeta to awaken and challenge Link to a battle. After Link completes the challenge, Captain Keeta rewards him with the Captain's Hat. With the Captain's Hat, Link can be mistaken for Captain Keeta by the Stalchildren, which allows him to talk to and be respected by them.[1][2] Using this ability, Link is able to command the Stalchildren in Ikana Graveyard to open the graves. This allows him to get the Song of Storms, a Piece of Heart, and an Empty Bottle in the N64 version (the Bottle is replaced with another Piece of Heart in the 3DS version). He can also use it to talk to the Stalchildren in the Oceanside Spider House, which allows him to get a Piece of Heart. Since the Song of Storms is required to complete the game, this makes the Captain's Hat one of only three required non-transformation masks, along with the Garo Mask and Gibdo Mask.
ReDeads become non-hostile and dance on the spot if Link is wearing the Captain's Hat, in the same way that the Gibdo Mask and Garo Mask do.
