There are six songs Link can conduct with the Wind Waker in the game of the same name. Each generates magical effects, and most are required to complete the game.
Below is a list of the songs. as well as a short description of what each song does.
Wind's Requiem
- Main article: Wind's Requiem
Location: Dragon Roost Island
The Wind's Requiem is the first song that Link learns in The Wind Waker. This song can change the direction of the wind, as long as Link is outside. It can also be used to make treasure chests appear when Link is standing on certain tiles. It is the most used out of all of the songs due to its importance in sailing, but only in the original release of the game. In The Wind Waker HD, the Swift Sail effectively replaces Wind's Requiem for sailing.
Ballad of Gales
- Main article: Ballad of Gales
Location: Great Sea
Once Link obtains the Hero's Bow from the Tower of the Gods, he is able to shoot Cyclos while in one of his cyclones. Cyclos takes a liking to Link; saying that no one has even seen him in the cyclones before, much less shot him with an arrow. He teaches Link the Ballad of Gales which gives him the power to control the cyclones, giving him the ability to quickly teleport himself across the Great Sea. It is also the only way to get into Mother and Child Isles, where Link obtains the Fire & Ice Arrows from the Queen of Fairies.
Command Melody
- Main article: Command Melody
Location: Tower of the Gods
The Command Melody is the third song obtained in The Wind Waker. It is learned in the Tower of the Gods and is important to that dungeon's completion as well as the Earth Temple and the Wind Temple. In addition to controlling statues, the Command Melody can also take control of Medli and Makar within their respective temples. It can be used to help Medli escape if she is captured by Floormasters or use her harp to reflect light, and it can allow Makar to fly up to high places or plant trees.
