It causes problems for search engine optimisation, it leads people to think there is content there when there isn't, and it removes it from [[Special:Wantedpages]]. I understand that a blank page is worse than a red link, but I never meant to convey the idea that I hoped to leave the page blank. On the contrary, I was meaning to temporarily leave it blank, and perhaps later fill the page in if another editor did not already do so.
