A Hearty Elixir is an item in Breath of the Wild.
Breath of the Wild
Hearty Elixirs both restore Link's health in full and grant additional, Temporary Hearts, the amount of which depends on the strength. This is especially useful when going into a boss battle or raiding a tough enemy camp.
They are made by mixing at least one Monster Part and one or more Hearty Blueshell Snails or Hearty Lizards. Hearty Elixirs can also occasionally be bartered from Beedle in exchange for Bladed Rhino Beetles or Energetic Rhino Beetles. The more Hearty ingredients added, the greater the number of temporary hearts the Elixir will give, although Link's total (permanent and temporary combined) heart containers can never exceed 30. If the hearty elixir consumed would otherwise take him beyond this point, he will only get the benefits of whatever number is needed to take him to 30.
The Hearty Elixir and the Fairy Tonic are the only elixirs that replenish hearts, as all other elixirs provide only buffs with no heart-replenishing.
