The Eastern Palace is the first dungeon in A Link Between Worlds. It is located along the eastern border of Hyrule, deep within the Eastern Ruins. The Bow is required in order to reach and complete the dungeon. Link must travel through the dungeon in order to obtain the Merge ability.

Gaining Entrance
The Eastern Palace is located deep within the Eastern Ruins. To reach it, Link must have spoken with Sahasrahla. He tells Link that his student, Osfala, has traveled to the Palace, but realizes he is now in danger since Osfala is one of the seven Sages. After learning this, Link can then travel to the Ruins but is soon stopped by an impenetrable wall. Link can then speak with Ravio, who gives him the Bow.

With the Bow in hand, Link can then shoot the blue orbs near the stone wall, lowering the wall. Link can then follow the path northeast to the Eastern Palace, where he meets with Osfala. The Sage soon runs inside, leaving Link to soon follow.

Dungeon Overview
From the outside, the Eastern Palace appears much like its counterpart in A Link to the Past. The Palace is shaped like a rectangular building, with the front possessing several large statues of an unknown enemy.

The inside of the dungeon possesses 3 floors, with the boss room taking up the entire third floor. The floors are generally gray stone, and the walls are relatively plain green. All of the walls possess masks that look exactly like the ones from the House of Gales and the Tower of Hera.

Most of the dungeon consists of large gaps that tend to hinder progress, along with few and far between enemies that act as obstacles. The dungeon is relatively easy to complete, as it is the first that Link encounters in the game.

Enemies
These are enemies Link encounters in the Eastern Palace.

Once you make it to the home enter the house in here you meet the Blacksmith, Captain, Craftsman, and the Blacksmith's Wife, you read through the conversations and then the Captain leaves but the Blacksmith just remembered that he left his sword behind so he gives you the sword to deliver instead of lecturing you on why you were late so now you must deliver it to Hyrule Castle.

Once you reach the Castle speak to the Hyrule Soldier he will inform you that you the Captain is at the Sanctuary so now he puts the destination on your map so now its time to head over to the Sanctuary but before you can enter you see two people outside. Seres and Dampe but before you could finish your conversation Seres screams and the door slams shut so now Dampe tells you, you have to use your sword to to defend yourself and save Seres. Also Dampe informs you a secret way to enter the Sanctuary through one of the graves.
Mini-Boss
The Mini-Boss of this dungeon are four Armos. Once they activate and turn golden, they can easily be defeated with a couple of strikes from the sword. After they are defeated, a green portal will appear and a door opens, allowing Link to continue through the dungeon.

Once you push the grace up it will move revealing a passage head through it now you are in this dark area with no light head up a bit and you will spot a treasure chest. Open the chest and you will receive a Lamp.

Now before proceeding you must light the two stands that need torches now head through the door. Now you are in a room with rats and a few stands where you can light them with the torch. Also there is a chest containing a Red Rupee. Toward the end of this room is a locked door that you need a Key to open it. Head to the right without falling off and you will find yet another chest containing a Key to open the locked door so head back and go through the locked door.
Boss
The Boss of this dungeon is Yuga. After sealing Osfala within a painting, he then proceeds to attack Link. Yuga can be attacked by using the Bow to shoot an arrow across the gap, stunning Yuga momentarily. The young hero can then run over and attack him briefly before Yuga merges into the wall and moves to another area of the room.

Now you are in a room surrounded by three ghost take them out and the passage ahead will be available for you to proceed through. Now in this new room lit the stand with the torch and you will see two switches to pull head to the one on the left so the door can open, the one on the right if pulled will drop snakes into the room. Once the switch is pulled and the passage is open head through it to enter the side of the Sanctuary.
After this process is repeated a few times, Yuga ends the battle and turns Link into a painting. He then escapes from the Palace with his painting, unaware that Ravio's Bracelet saves Link from staying as a painting.
