Blue Tektites are recurring enemies in The Legend of Zelda series. They are one of many variants of the Tektite, which include Red Tektite, Golden Tektite, and larger boss enemies including Rocktites. In most games, the Blue Tektite and the Red Tektite are interchangeable with no differences. In some titles, the Blue Tektites are slightly stronger or have more abilities than their Red Tektite counterparts.
The Minish Cap
In The Minish Cap, Blue Tektite first appear after scaling Crenel Wall on Mt. Crenel. They will hop around and when Link is nearby, will attempt to jump and land on top of him. The Blue variants in The Minish Cap are a bit stronger than their Red counterparts. While the Red Tektite will jump once, before resting for short period, the blue Tektite will jump three consecutive times, before resting. Furthermore, the Blue Tektites have more health and will take three strikes with the base White Sword to defeat, as opposed to the Red Tektites which take two strikes.
