The Vertical Slice is a basic attack found in several Legend of Zelda titles.
The Wind Waker
In The Wind Waker, the vertical slice is one of the many sword techniques taught to Link by Orca during the Sword Training. It is the second sword attack learned and it is performed by pressing 'ZL' to target Orca, and then pressing 'B' to attack.[1]
