1999 saw the release or occurrence of the following Legend of Zelda games, notable items, or events.
January
- 1st - Link's Awakening DX was released for the Game Boy Color in Europe.
- 21st - Super Smash Bros. was released for the Nintendo 64 in Japan.
April
- 26th - Super Smash Bros. was released for the Nintendo 64 in North America.
November
- 19th - Super Smash Bros. was released for the Nintendo 64 in Europe.
December
- 1st - The Nintendo 64DD is released in Japan. Originally, this was a disc expansion for the Nintendo 64 and Zelda three games were suppose to run on it. Zelda64, which became Ocarina of Time released for the Nintendo 64, Zelda Gaiden, which became Majora's Mask, and Ura Zelda.
