Goddess Cubes are new to the Zelda Series. Their first appearance is in Skyward Sword. If Link strikes one with a Skyward Strike from the Goddess Sword, it will activate a treasure chest in the The Sky. In addition to that, it will emit a beam signal so Link can easily retrieve them. They are only found on the surface, and there are only 27 of them in all.
