"Boots designed for hiking up snowy mountains. They evenly distribute your body weight so you can maintain your normal walking speed over deep snow."
The Snow Boots are a piece of leg armor found in Breath of the Wild and Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity.
Appearances
Breath of the Wild
Snow Boots have a base defense of 3, and increase Link's walking speed on snow. They can first be obtained after obtaining the Camera Rune by speaking to Bozai outside of the Gerudo Town whilst wearing the Gerudo Veil, Top, and Sirwal, and he will lend Link his Snow Boots in exchange for a promise of a photo of the Statue of the Eighth Heroine. After Link shows this photo to Bozai, he will request the Snow Boots back, in exchange for the Sand Boots.
In order to permanently gain the Snow Boots, Link must return to Bozai after receiving the Sand Boots, whilst still wearing Gerudo Vai garb, and Bozai will ask for a photo of the Sword of the Eighth Heroine. If Link correctly presents an image of this, he will obtain the boots permanently.
Usage
The Snow Boots, while providing higher speed on snow, are not interchangeable with the Snowquill Trousers in the Snowquill Set in terms of said set's Freezing Immunity. Also, these boots can be worn in place of the Gerudo Sirwal in order to enter Gerudo Town, just as long as the Veil/Thunder Helm and the Top are being worn.
After Link has obtained this item for the first time, he will be able to purchase it from Granté in Tarrey Town for 800 Rupees.
Alongside the Sand Boots, the Snow Boots are among the only enhanceable and dyeable single armor pieces that are not part of Sets. All other single pieces of armor are either only enhanceable (Circlets and Earrings), or only dyeable (Warm Doublet, Gerudo Set).
Enhance Path
The Snow Boots cannot be enhanced when on loan during The Eighth Heroine sidequest, and must be obtained permanently after completing The Forgotten Sword sidequest before enhancing is available. Enhancing Armor requires that Link has unlocked as many Great Fairy Fountains as the desired star-level
