How To Get Train Parts
After the Bridge Worker fixes the bridge near the Trading Post, Link will be able to trade in Treasure pieces in order to get train parts. Go to the Trading Post and speak with Linebeck III. Select Train Parts and scroll through to the Train Part that you would like to purchase. Instead of paying with rupees, Link can exchange various treasures for the different Train Parts.
Train Cars
There are four different train cars on the train. Link will start the game off with the Spirit Engine and the Solid Passenger Car. After going through the Tower of Spirits for a 2nd time, Alfonzo will upgrade the train and add a cannon. Much later in the game when Link reaches Goron Village, a freight car to the back of the train.
Customize The Train
There are eight different types of train sets in Spirit Tracks. The standard train is the Spirit Train and it will have four heart containers of health. However, as Link customizes the train, he can increase the amount of health the train has.
4 Hearts - Complete Spirit Train 5 Hearts - Any 1 Customized Train Part 6 Hearts - Complete Customized Set 8 Hearts - Complete Customized Gold Train
After getting the train parts from Linebeck, Link can have him put them on immediately. However, at any point if Link would like to change the train parts that the train currently has, he will have to go to Aboda Village and speak with Alfonzo, who will customize the train for Link.
