The Blue Rupee is a variation of the standard rupee. It has appeared in every Zelda game that rupees have appeared in. The standard value for a Blue Rupee is 5, but in some games that was not the case.
Values
The Blue Rupee has had some different values since the Zelda Series began. It's most common form is being worth five Rupees. In some games, that is not the case.
The Legend of Zelda
In the first installment of the Zelda Series, the Blue Rupee was one of just two variations of rupees found within this game. An Orange Rupee was worth one rupee, while a Blue Rupee was worth five. This game began the standard value for the Blue Rupee.
A Link to the Past
The SNES classic continued the standard formula for the Blue Rupee. The Blue Rupee in this game was worth five rupees.
Link's Awakening
The first handheld Zelda game was also the first to change up the value of the Blue Rupee. The usual value of five has been thrown out the window in this game was replaced by a value of a single rupee. This is one of only three games where the Blue Rupee is not worth five rupees.
Ocarina of Time
The Blue Rupee got its wealth back in the Nintendo 64 classic Ocarina of Time. The Blue Rupee had what is now know to be its standard value back at five rupees.
Majora's Mask
The Blue Rupee maintained its wealth from Ocarina of Time into Majora's Mask, as in this game the Blue Rupee is worth five rupees.
Oracle Series
The Oracle Series were the second and third games who differed from the standard five rupee value of the Blue Rupee. In these games, the Blue Rupee had a much larger value than usual. The Blue Rupee could be worth 20 or 30 rupees in these games. Sadly for the Blue Rupee, these would be the only games where its value is more than five.
Four Swords
The Blue Rupee appeared in Four Swords, again holding its own with a value of five rupees.
The Wind Waker
Nothing special in this game. The Blue Rupee again has a value of five rupees.
The Minish Cap
The Blue Rupee again is worth five rupees.
Twilight Princess
The Blue Rupee is worth five rupees.
Phantom Hourglass
The Blue Rupee again is worth the standard five rupees.
Spirit Tracks
The Blue Rupee is once again worth five rupees.
Skyward Sword
In the most recent addition to the Legend of Zelda series, the Blue Rupee has again maintained its usual value at five rupees.
