No information here is "official" wiki information, please, just use this to figure out how you want it before you create a page. Remember, you can make a mess of the sand, but it is just as easily cleaned up! Click here to reset the sandbox.

Heart Pieces

From: Majora's Mask Heart Pieces

Majora's Mask features 52 heart pieces scattered across Termina, offering 13 Heart Containers to Link's total health.

Location: South Clock Town
Conditions: Acquire the Land Title Deed
Heart Piece #1: In South Clock Town, you can see a Piece of Heart sitting in front of the entrance to the top of the Clock Tower. Trade a Moon's Tear for the Land Title Deed with the Business Scrub living at the yellow flower just outside the tower. With the Business Scrub out of the way, as Deku Link, use the flower to launch yourself up to the Piece of Heart.
Location: North Clock Town
Conditions: Acquire the Ocarina of Time
Heart Piece #2: In North Clock Town, a Piece of Heart is seen in the branches of a tree. To obtain it, climb up the pillars right next to the slide to get on top of them. Once on top, jump on to the tree branches to claim your prize.
Location: West Clock Town
Conditions: Acquire the Ocarina of Time
Heart Piece #3: Go to the Swordsman's School in West Clock Town at any time on any day (except the Night of the Final Day). Agree to do his expert course and slice all the wooden logs straight down the middle by using a Jump Attack. If you do this to all of them, you get a perfect score of 30 and receive a Piece of Heart.
Location: Termina Field
Conditions: Acquire the Ocarina of Time
Heart Piece #4: In southwest Termina Field, in a large patch of grass, you will find some butterflies. Walk around near there to find a Grotto. Inside, there is a giant Peahat. It is fairly easy to defeat. Once that is accomplished, you will receive a Piece of Heart. If it is nighttime in the Nintendo 3DS version, you can easily defeat this enemy by tossing Bombs at it as it will not awaken.
Location: Termina Field
Conditions: Acquire the Ocarina of Time
Heart Piece #5: In north Termina Field, there is a hole beneath one of the mushroom-shaped structures in the snow-filled region. Inside, there are two Dodongos. They take quite a beating to defeat, especially with your lack of decent weaponry early on. Use Bombs to defeat these enemies. Defeat them to receive a Piece of Heart.
Location: North Clock Town
Conditions: Enough Rupees to play at the Deku Scrub Playground (10)
Heart Piece #6: In North Clock Town, you will notice a fenced-off Grotto next to the entrance to the Great Fairy Fountain. Put on the Deku Mask and use the nearby flower to launch yourself over the fence. The grotto leads to the Deku Scrub Playground. Play their game three times, once on each day and win each time. The Business Scrubs will reward you with a Piece of Heart. You could actually get this Piece of Heart during the first Three-Day-Cycle when you are a Deku. This is one of the most difficult Pieces of Heart in the game and perhaps could be left until after Woodfall Temple when you have more experience with Deku Link.
Location: West Clock Town
Conditions: Acquire the Ocarina of Time, Bunny Hood (Recommended)
Heart Piece #7: Enter the Post Office on the First Day anytime from 3pm to 12am, or on the Second Day between 5pm and 12am. Speak with the Postman to play a little game. This game can be extremely difficult. You have to hit A to start a timer and then again at exactly 10 seconds. If you pull it off, he will give you a Piece of Heart. What makes this so difficult is that not only do you have to stop the timer on exactly 10 seconds, but the timer will disappear from the screen after the first couple of seconds. However, if you wear the Bunny Hood while playing the game, the timer will not vanish making it much easier to succeed.
Location: West Clock Town
Conditions: Acquire the Kamaro's Mask
Heart Piece #8: Go to West Clock Town during the First or Second Night to find the Rosa Sisters practicing their dance routine outside, but they are having trouble coming up with some good moves. Put on Kamaro's Mask and show them some new moves, which makes the sisters so impressed they will award you with a Piece of Heart.
Location: East Clock Town - Stock Pot Inn
Conditions: Acquire the Land Title Deed (or a Letter)
Heart Piece #9: Enter the Stock Pot Inn at night and go to the restroom. Between 12am and 6am, a hand will appear out of the toilet, an individual simply known as ???. He desires paper. Hand him any letter or any of the Title Deeds obtained throughout your quest so he can use it as toilet paper. Understandably, he is very grateful and gives a Piece of Heart as thanks.
Location: Termina Field
Conditions: Acquire the Adult Wallet, give the Moon's Tear to the Business Scrub in South Clock Town
Heart Piece #10: After giving the Moon's Tear to the Business Scrub in South Clock Town, he will pack his page and fly out of Clock Town. Go back to the Astral Observatory and use the telescope. Look to the left of the Clock Tower and you will see the Business Scrub from earlier. Watch him as he flies into a hole below in Termina Field. You have to actually see him fly into the hole for him to appear. Return to Termina Field and fall into that hole. Inside, the Business Scrub will sell you a Piece of Heart to keep his hole a secret. First, he will charge you 150 Rupees. Say no. He will lower the price to a final 100. Take it!
Location: One of three Keaton locations. North Clock Town is most accessible.
Conditions: Acquire the Keaton Mask
Heart Piece #11: There are circles of bushes that will wiggle about when you attack one of them. There is one in North Clock Town, one in Milk Road, and the last one is in the Mountain Village after defeating Goht. Go to one of these places and slash one of them while wearing the Keaton Mask. Wait for them to disappear and then a Keaton will appear. Speak with it to play a little game. He will ask five questions and if you answer them all correctly, you will receive a Piece of Heart. Refer to the our Keaton Quiz Guide to find all the answers to his questions.
Location: Clock Town
Conditions: Acquire the Postman's Hat
Heart Piece #12: Use the Postman's Hat to check any of the mailboxes in Clock Town to find a Piece of Heart.
Location: Road to Southern Swamp
Conditions: None
Heart Piece #13: On the path to the Southern Swamp, you will come to a fork in the road with a large tree nearby. Defeat the Bad Bats on the tree and flying nearby and climb up the vines. At the top is a Piece of Heart awaiting you.
Location: Southern Swamp
Conditions: Acquire the Land Title Deed
Heart Piece #14: Speak with the Business Scrub right outside the Swamp Tourist Center while not wearing a mask and trade the Land Title Deed from Clock Town for the Swamp Title Deed. Use the flower to launch yourself on top of the Tourist Center to find a Piece of Heart awaiting you.
Location: Southern Swamp
Conditions: Acquire the Pictograph Box
Heart Piece #15: There is a Pictograph Contest at the Swamp Tourist Center for the best pictographs. The contest lasts until the poison goes away, so you have to do it before you complete the Woodfall Temple. To get a Piece of Heart, bring the Tourist Center Guy a picture of either the Deku King, or Tingle (that son he is ashamed of) who can be found at the entrance to Southern Swamp.
Location: Deku Palace
Conditions: Reach the Deku Palace
Heart Piece #16: When you enter the Deku Palace, go forward and get past the two guards by talking to them with the Deku Mask on. Next, take the left path. Avoid the guards' line of sight, or just wear the Stone Mask and make your way to the end of this little maze to find yourself a Piece of Heart.
Location: Woodfall
Conditions: Reach the Woodfall area
Heart Piece #17: When in Woodfall, if you keep flying from platform to platform after the one with the Owl Statue, the last one will have a Treasure Chest on it. Open it to receive a Piece of Heart.
Location: Termina Field
Conditions: Learn the Sonata of Awakening
Heart Piece #18: There are four holes near the four exits in Termina Field. Inside each hole are four Gossip Stones, one of them large (representing that hole). Your goal is to change the large one's color one at a time by playing one of the songs listed to them. When they are all changed (they must all be the SAME COLOR), you will receive a Piece of Heart.
- North: Northeast of the entrance to North Clock Town, before you enter the snowy area, is the first hole.
- West: North of the entrance to West Clock Town is a boulder. Blow it up or smash it to reveal the second hole underneath.
- South: Between the entrance to the Swamp and Milk Road, along the wall is the third hole.
- East: To the left of the Astral Observatory (when you're facing it) is the fourth hole.

Location: Southern Swamp

Conditions: Defeat Odolwa

NOTE: Nintendo 64 ONLY. This Piece of Heart was changed to an Empty Bottle in the Nintendo 3DS Version. Likewise, late in the quest an Empty Bottle location was changed to a Piece of Heart.

Heart Piece N64: Go to the Swamp Tourist Center and speak with Koume after you've defeated Odolwa and rescued her earlier. She will let you play a little game now that the poison is clear. Koume will fly around on her broom, holding a target below her. The object of the game is to hit the target at least 20 times. You can hit her 10 times and then you're out. Aim carefully, it is pretty easy. Once you've done it, you will receive a Piece of Heart as a reward.

This is changed in the 3DS version of the game. Instead of receiving a Piece of Heart as a reward, you receive an Empty Bottle. The location of the Piece of Heart is swapped with the location of the Bottle you receive in Ikana Graveyard.

Location: Romani Ranch

Conditions: Acquire the Mask of Truth (Recommended)

Heart Piece #19: Go to Mamamu Yan's Doggy Racetrack at the back of Romani Ranch. You have to bring her a dog to race with and bet a certain amount of Rupees to play. If you win 150 or more Rupees, you will receive a Piece of Heart. Before you actually pick a dog to race with, walk around picking them up one by one while wearing the Mask of Truth. With this, you can hear their thoughts.

When you find the one that says something to the extent of "Ruff! There's no way I can lose!" and is very enthusiastic, take him and bet 50 Rupees on him (the maximum amount). The races are pretty random, but it is a very good chance that you will at least get third, which will still allow you to keep your Rupees. If you don't get it the first time, find the correct puppy that makes the above statement and do it again. After a few tries you will get it. You could get this without the Mask of Truth, but you'd be picking blindly.

Location: East Clock Town

Conditions: Acquire the Hero's Bow

Heart Piece #20: Enter the Town Shooting Gallery in East Clock Town. If you manage to get 50 points (a perfect score), you will receive a Piece of Heart.

Location: Road to Southern Swamp

Conditions: Acquire the Hero's Bow

Heart Piece #21: In the Swamp Shooting Gallery, if you score 2180+ points, you will receive a Piece of Heart.

Location: East Clock Town

Conditions: Acquire the Bomb Bag and Hero's Bow

Heart Piece #22: Visit the Honey & Darling's Shop in East Clock Town. On the First Day, complete the Bombchu Gallery Game, on the Second Day, complete the Basket Bomb Game, and on the Final Day, complete the Target Shooting Game. If you win on each day, you will get a Piece of Heart on the Final Day.

Location: Goron Village

Conditions: Reach Goron Village, acquire the Swamp Title Deed

Heart Piece #23: From the entrance of Goron Village, go right along the top ledge. It will lead you to another Business Scrub who owns a flower there. Talk to him as a Deku Scrub and trade him the Swamp Title Deed for the Mountain Title Deed.

Use the flower to launch yourself up to the platform above you. Here, a lone Piece of Heart is waiting for you.

Location: East Clock Town

Conditions: Acquire the Goron Mask

Heart Piece #24: Play the Treasure Chest Game in East Clock Town. The prize you win depends on what form you are in. Put on the Goron Mask and play the game. It will cost more to play, but the reward will be a Piece of Heart.

Location: Ikana Graveyard

Conditions: Acquire the Captain's Hat

Heart Piece #25: On the Second Night, use the Captain's Hat to order the Stalchildren guarding the grave to open it. Fall in. You will fall on to a little ledge. Jump to the next platform. Use the Lens of Truth and walk through the fake wall. Go through the door. Here, there are lots of invisible enemies as well as an invisible path that leads across this large gap. When you get to the other side, turn left and use a Bomb on the cracked wall. Go through the door that is behind it. In this final room, there is an Iron Knuckle. Defeat it to make a chest appear containing a Piece of Heart.

Location: Ikana Graveyard

Conditions: Acquire the Captain's Hat

NOTE: Nintendo 3DS ONLY. In the Nintendo 64 version, this was an Empty Bottle. This was switched with the Koume Target Shooting Piece of Heart that is now an Empty Bottle.

Heart Piece #26: On the Third Night, use the Captain's Hat to order the Stalchildren guarding the grave to open it. Fall in and you will find Dampé. Target and have him walk around the room, digging up the various soil locations. In some cases, you will need to have him step on the platforms, causing him to reach the higher soil locations. After digging three flames, a large Poe will appear. Defeat the Poe and open the treasure chest to get the Piece of Heart]].
