Mago is a Wizzrobe-like enemy in Zelda II: The Adventure of Link.
Appearances
Magos are orange-cloaked magicians with skull-like face, and are guardians of the Ocean Palace. These spell-casters attack with fire spells and also quite adept at teleportation. Like the Wizzrobes, they will disappear and reappear constantly to a different location in the room. However, unlike Wizzrobes, they can be defeated using Link's sword.
The right time to attack them is after they release a fireball that travels along the floor towards Link. Wait until they reappears near you, then attack them with your Sword. They are very hard to kill, but they provide 200 experience points upon defeat.
Trivia
The word Mago is Portuguese and Spanish for Wizzard.
