The Eldin Temple Walkthrough is a full guide for the Eldin Temple, the dungeon featured in Echoes of Wisdom. This includes navigating the dungeon, opening all chests, and taking on the dungeon boss, Volvagia.
First Small Key
- From the entrance head up to find a room with two Fire Keese. Defeat or avoid them and then head right a screen.
- Use a Lava Rock Echo on the right, so Link can jump over to the next platform. Then, either use Bind to grab the existing Lava Rock and carry it to the far right, or simply drop another Lava Rock on the lava geyser. Ride the lava rock up and head up a screen.
- Use the Mothula Echo and grab onto the Mothula. Jump over to the wind geysers and use them to glide up. Glide your way to the northeast corner and open the chest to get the small key.
- Backtrack down a screen and left a screen. Before heading through the locked door, head up a screen. After defeat the Dark Zirros, Zelda can use a Bombfish to break the boulders at the top-right of the corner. Pull up the chest to get 8 Twisted Pumpkins.
Use a Lava Rock to ride up the lava geyser Use a Mothula Echo to summon a Mothula Float over the air geysers to reach the chest that has a Small Key Blast the cracked black to find a chest that holds some Twisted Pumpkins
Second Small Key
- Use the Small Key on the locked door and head left. The lava in this room will rise and fall. When it is down, there are two Tweelus in the room. There is also a chest at the bottom of the room that can be pulled up which contains a Golden Egg.
- When the lava is lowered, lift the Lava Rock on the left side of the room and step on the floor switch. With the door opened, climb the ladder at the top of the room.
- Place a Lava Rock on the lava geyser so it is in between the rocks and then jump over to it.
- This next part has many solutions and it's solution will depend on Tri's power and how many triangle power Zelda has. Zelda can climb the wall and on the right side, there is a lava geyser. While Zelda can place a Lava Rock, she's too far to reach the higher ledge. If Zelda has five triangles of power, she can place an Old Bed as well as reach the right ledge.
- Alternatively, Zelda can use Strandtulas and quickly navigate across, but this is rather difficult and Zelda needs to be very quick.
- The best strategy is to first clear the Fire Octo below. Then drop a Lava Rock into the lava at the opening. While standing on the platform above where the Fire Octo was, and to the left of the Lava Rock, use Bind on the lava rock. While connected with the Lava Rock, climb down to the lava geyser. Place the lava rock so that the left end of it is at the edge of the geyser.
- Zelda can then jump to the lava rock. Since it is slightly closer to the right, Zelda can jump up to the right. Zelda will need to either have the Frog Ring equipped, or she can briefly swith to Swordfighter Form to make the jump.
- In the next room climb down the ladder and then use a Boulder to prevent the burning air from harming Zelda. Continue down the ladder here.
- Wait until the lava subsides and then drop down on the left side. There is a switch in the distance and the quickest method to hit it is to switch into Swordfighter Form and shoot an Arrow. This will open the door to the right.
- Zelda can drop a Lava Rock and jump back up, or use a Strandtula to get back up. Use a Lava Rock to get across the gap to the right and continue right a screen. Open the chest to get another Small Key.
Lift the Lava Rock and step on the floor switch to open the door Use the Frog Ring or Swordfighter Form to leap up to the right Use a Boulder to block the burning air Drop down to the left and shoot an Arrow to hit the switch
Dungeon Map
- After getting the small key, Zelda can return left a screen and up the ladder. Zelda can climb this area, but be careful of the flaming smoke geysers coming from the wall. Some of which will temporarily die down, allowing Zelda to pass.
- A treasure chest can be found here and there are multiple ways to reach it. The safest method is to use Bind while standing underneath it and carry it to the right, out of the way of the geysers all together. Alternatively, Zelda can use a statue, such as an Elephant Statue Echo, along with Bind while climbing the ladder on the left. Open the chest to get the Dungeon Map. Climb the ladder on the right side.
Zelda can use a tall statue such as an Elephant Statue to block the hot air It's much easier to simply use Bind and pull the treasure chest
Bombs of Might
- Use the small key on the locked door and head up to confront Link once again. This time Link's weapon of choice is the Bomb.
- The best method to defeating Link here is to simply use Swordfighter Form, jump up, and slash at him. Zelda can also shoot Arrows at Link from a distance while in Swordfighter Form.
- After enough hits, Link will begin to use Bombchus to attack. The strategy doesn't change much, as swordfighter form is still the way togo.
- The cracks boxes throughout the room will be able to restore Zelda's energy gauge, allowing her to use Swordfighter Form again.
- After Link has been defeating, head up and collect the Bombs of Might. Continue onward to the next room.
Use Swordfighter Form and attack Link After enough hits, Link will begin using Bombchus Zelda can shoot Arrows at Link from a distance
Two Small Keys
- Make your way to the northeast corner of the room. There are some cracked blocks preventing Zelda from passing. Use a Bombfish along with Bind to hold the bomb up to the cracked blocks. Clear the blocks and climb up the ladder at the far corner of the room.
- Clear the Tweelus in the room and then use Bombs or a Bombfish to break the boxes. In the top-left corner there is a chest with a Silver Rupee. In the northeast corner there is a path leading to the next room.
- Inside Zelda will find an enemy Fire Wizzrobe. Zelda should use a quick moving flying echo, such as a Mothula. Repeatedly spawn a Mothula after each time it hits the Fire Wizzrobe. Once he has been defeated be sure to learn the Fire Wizzrobe Echo and open the chest to get a Small Key.
- Backtrack down a screen and down a ladder to get to the side-scrolling area. Travel to the west and use Swordfighter Form to clear the purple barrier. Then use bombs to break the blocks below. Climb down to find a chest that contains another Small Key.
- With two small keys in hand, travel to the southwest corner of the room, use a small key on the locked gate, and then head down the ladder.
Use Bombfish to break the blocks Break more blocks with a Bombfish Echo Fight the Fire Wizzrobe with a Mothula and get a Small Key Use Swordfighter Form to clear the purple barrier
Big Key
- Navigate to the southwest corner of the room and head down the ladder. Continue down another ladder to reach a side-scrolling area.
- Travel to the bottom of the room, defeating the Ghirro and the Mini-Moldorm along the way.
- The Big chest is found here and contains the Big Key. Once Zelda gets it, Lava will start to fill up the room.
- Quickly climb up the room. As you climb up, one of the ladders will crumble, forcing Zelda to use echoes to reach the left side of the room. Jump over and then continue to climb up and out of the room.
- Climb up the ladder and make your way to the northwest corner of the large side-scrolling area. Use Bombfish to break the boulders here. Zelda can then use a Strandtula Echo to scale up to the top and climb the ladder.
- Use a Mothula Echo and glide northward, using the air geysers. Use Lava Rocks when needed and continue to glide up to reach the locked door. Use the Big Key and head on in to take on the dungeon boss, Volvagia.
Defeat the Ghirro so it doesn't bother you on your way up Once you collect the Big Key lava begins to fill the room Use Old Beds to jump across after the nearby ladder breaks Use a Strandtula to climb up to the northwest corner of the room Use a Mothula to glide over the air geysers Use a Lava Rock when necessary
Volvagia
- Volvagia will appear somewhere in the room and will immediately shoot out a large green orb towards Zelda. The orb will slowly curve in Zelda's direction, but as long as you keep moving, you can avoid it. Volvagia will then shoot a series of fireballs out towards Zelda. Move quickly to avoid the attack.
- After Volvagia's initial attack, Zelda can run up and use Bind on the green orb around its neck. Pull it back to stun the boss. Jump over and use Swordfighter Form to quickly deal some damage.
- This process repeats, but occasionally Volvagia will land in an area that is fully surrounded by lava. In this case, Zelda will need to use ranged attacks to hit the boss. This could be in the form of projectile echoes, such as the Spear Moblin Echo. Zelda can also shoot Arrows herself after changing into Swordfighter Form.
- If Zelda gets close to Volvagia before it is stunned, the boss the will do a head swipe, trying to damage her.
- After Volvagia has taken some damage, the boss will charge up a fire attack, creating a circle of fire on the platform where Zelda was standing. Just move quickly to avoid this attack.
- Repeat the process of pulling at Volvagia with Bind and slashing away until the boss has been defeated.
Pull back on the boss with Bind to stun it Deliver sword slashes while in Swordfighter Form If Volvagia is in the lava, use projectile attacks, such as those from a Speak Moblin Echo
Post-Eldin Temple
- After Volvagia is defeated, Zelda will be contacted by Din, one of the three goddesses who created the world. The goddess will give Zelda Din's Sanction.
- Zelda can then grab the Heart Container and speak to Tri to warp out.
- Darston is waiting for the two and they will then head back to Goron City. Here the Gorons will all celebrate, tossing Zelda and Darston into the air. This will complete The Rift on Eldin Volcano main quest.
Din will give Zelda Din's Sanction Grab the Heart Container and warp out of the dungeon Darston and Zelda will appear back at Goron City
