Biggoron's Sword is a recurring sword in The Legend of Zelda series.
Ocarina of Time
"A huge, sturdy, and very sharp sword. You can't use a shield while wielding it."
Biggoron's Sword is rewarded for completing the trading sequence in the future. At the end of the sequence, Link will obtain the Broken Goron's Sword, which Biggoron can reforge into his eponymous blade. The sword functions as an indestructible version of the Giant's Knife[1] - it deals double damage compared to the Master Sword and has a longer reach, making it the strongest sword in the game. However, due to it being a greatsword, Link must hold it with both hands and cannot equip a shield while using it.
Despite its strength, Biggoron's Sword is overshadowed during the final boss, as Ganon takes reduced damage from all sources except the Master Sword, which is required to deal the finishing blow. However, Biggoron's Sword is still useful during the fight, when Link loses the Master Sword.
Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages
In Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages, Biggoron's Sword can only be obtained by using a specific password: to learn it, Link must receive the password from Biggoron in Oracle of Seasons, or the Goron Elder in Oracle of Ages - in the latter case, Link must tell him the Elder Secret and then score 300 points at the Goron Shooting Gallery. The password can then be entered in a Linked Game to receive the sword.
Biggoron's Sword is the strongest sword in the game. It deals damage equivalent to the Master Sword, but is swung in a 180° arc, compared to the 90° arc of the other available swords - it is also able to one-shot Armos. However, since it is a greatsword, Biggoron's Sword takes up both the A and B buttons when equipped, meaning that Link cannot use other items alongside it.
Breath of the Wild
"A legendary greatsword forged by a Goron craftsman for a hero who traveled through time. The exceptionally sharp cutting edge is a testament to the craftsman's mastery."
In Breath of the Wild, Biggoron's Sword is an amiibo-exclusive weapon. To obtain it, Link must scan a "Link (Ocarina of Time)" amiibo; the sword can be found as a random drop, but only if Link has freed at least one Divine Beast. It has a base power of 50 and a durability of 60, making it the most durable amiibo melee weapon in the game.
Required amiibo
Tears of the Kingdom
Biggoron's Sword can be found in the Akkala House of Bones, in the Deep Akkala Depths, beneath the Skull Lake Chasm. Link can reach the chamber by dropping through the chasm from the surface, or from the depths through a narrow pathway blocked by smashable rock midway up the wall just northwest of the Sikutamak Lightroot.
To open the chest which contains the sword, Link must defeat several Stalkoblins and Stalmoblins, and then a gloom-wreathed Stalnox. Once broken, this sword can be repurchased from a Bargainer Statue for 150 Poes. It can also be obtained by scanning Link (Ocarina of Time) amiibo.
Biggoron's Sword has a power of 38 (shown as 36), and is the most durable two-handed weapon in the game before fusions and weapon bonuses, with a durability of 60. Only the Lightscale Trident, a spear, has a higher durability (70) amongst weapons. However, Biggoron's Swords cannot have a weapon bonus—even feeding one to a Rock Octorok will have it immediately spit it back out unchanged, regardless of context.

SoulCalibur II
In SoulCalibur II, Biggoron's Sword appears as one of Link's unlockable weapons. It can be purchased in Merak, Antares or Pollux in Weapons Master Mode.
Weapon | Cost (Gold) | Attributes | Description |
---|---|---|---|
Biggoron's Sword |
4,000 | Long reach Drains 3 HP per attack |
A masterfully crafted long sword forged by the best blacksmith in Hyrule, Biggoron, who lives on Death Mountain. Designed specifically for Link, it is made to be wielded with one hand. Even so, swinging it with full force gets tiring after a while. |
Trivia
- In Ocarina of Time (N64), the Giant's Knife and Biggoron's Sword are cosmetically identical. This was changed in Ocarina of Time 3D, such that the Giant's Knife has a brown leather grip and blue pommel and Biggoron's Sword has a white leather grip and gold pommel.
