Shards of Naydra's Spikes can be obtained by running along [[Naydra]]'s back and gathering the small spikes which protrude from the edges of the main spikes - note that doing so without taking damage requires [[Cold Resistance]], such as from the [[Snowquill Set]]. When [[fuse]]d to a weapon, they make the weapon blunt, but also turn the weapon into an ice weapon akin to a [[Frostblade]] or [[Frostspear]].  When fused to a shield, they increase friction while [[Shield Surf]]ing, but boost a shield bash attack. Carrying such a [[Fused Weapon]] or Fused Shield lowers [[Link (Breath of the Wild)|Link]]'s temperature, which can reduce the need for [[Heat Resistance]].

 

Fifteen shards are needed to upgrade the [[Tunic of the Wild]] to ★★★★ level, but there are no quests which require them. They can be sold to shop-vendors all over [[Hyrule]] for 30 [[Rupee]]s each, or used as a light blue dye ingredient at the [[Kochi Dye Shop]].
