Shards of Farosh's Spikes can be obtained by running along [[Farosh]]'s back and gathering the small spikes which protrude from the edges of the main spikes - note that doing so safely outside the [[Depths]] requires [[Lightning Proof]], such as from the [[Lightning Helm]]. When [[fuse]]d to a weapon, they make the weapon blunt, but also turn the weapon into an electric weapon akin to a [[Thunderblade]] or [[Thunderspear]].  When fused to a shield, they increase friction while [[Shield Surf]]ing, but boost a shield bash attack.

 

Fifteen shards are needed to upgrade the [[Cap of the Wild]] to ★★★★ level, but there are no quests which require them. They can be sold to shop-vendors all over [[Hyrule]] for 30 [[Rupee]]s each, or used as a light yellow dye ingredient at the [[Kochi Dye Shop]].
