The dream home service is run out of Tarrey Town by Rhondson, the co-owner of Hudson Construction. When Link first reaches Tarrey Town after the Upheaval, she is distracted by the imminent departure of her daughter, Mattison, for Gerudo Town.
After Mattison departs, she offers Link a discount on a dream home in reflection of the help he had given her family. Rather than 3000 rupees for a plot of land south-east of Tarrey Town plus the cost of rooms, she offers him the chance to buy the land plus two rooms (a bedroom and a foyer) for 1500 rupees, a saving of 2200 rupees, and throws in a "commemorative gift" as a bonus.
After Link makes the purchase, she directs him to meet Grantéson at the plot. Link can talk to Grantéson to have the rooms set up, then use Ultrahand to place them. He can also purchase additional rooms from Grantéson (see below), or preview them before deciding whether to make a purchase. No more than 15 units can be placed at any one time - if Link purchases more, he will have to store or sell some of his existing rooms.
After Link tells Grantéson he's done, the latter inspects the building to make sure it's within the property boundaries and considered safe. Rooms do not have to be fully enclosed - "indoor" units all have at least one side fully opened, and the only unit with a door is the foyer - and can be left open to the elements.  Open-framed "angled" and "square" rooms exist purely to allow rooms to be joined, enclosed and accessible without requiring multiple foyer units, along with indoor stairs to allow units to be stacked on top of each other while still being accessible and enclosed.
As soon as Grantéson passes the inspection, Link's House is available for use, including any amenities included such as beds (bedrooms), cooking pots (kitchens), Goddess Statues (blessing rooms) and paddocks for keeping horses.
