Zelda first appears with [[Link]] in the prologue to the game, [[Beneath Hyrule Castle]]. She is exploring the cavern due to the gloom that has been affecting Hylians exploring nearby caves. Link and Zelda find the Zonai Ruins, with cave depictions of their first contact with Hylians, and the Imprisoning War she had read about in her studies. Zelda and Link eventually find the sealed corpse of [[Ganon#Tears of the Kingdom|Ganondorf]]. He destroys the cavern and lifts [[Hyrule Castle]] into the sky. Zelda falls with the crumbling ground below her, and is consumed by a bright light which takes her away from the area. | |||
