Instead of increasing Link's defense, it boosts his attack power. It is not required to complete the game and is optional to aquire. Link can only get this tunic in the [[The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening DX|DX version]] of the game in the [[Color Dungeon]]. After completing the dungeon, the [[Fairy Queen]] will give Link "the power of color", with the option to have more power or defense. The Red Tunic will grant double attack power, while the [[Blue Tunic]] gives double defense.
