After obtaining the three Pendants of Virtue and purchasing the Bombs outright from Ravio, Link can take the Bombs to Mother Maiamai in her cave near Lake Hylia. There, if he has found ten of her children since the last time she upgraded one of his weapons (or at all, if it is the first upgrade), she will gladly upgrade it to the Nice Bombs.

They have a larger range and power than the basic bombs.
