"Hestu's beloved maracas. He's been shaking them since he was two years old."
Hestu's Maracas are a key item found in Breath of the Wild and a weapon for Hestu in Age of Calamity.
Breath of the Wild
When Hestu is first met on the path to Kakariko Village, just north of Kakariko Bridge, he will ask that Link retrieve his maracas, triggering the The Priceless Maracas side quest.
The maracas themselves can be found in a chest guarded by some Bokoblins a little way closer to Kakariko Village. Once returned to Hestu, he will react in disappointment that they no longer rattle. In return for Korok Seeds to restore them, he will use the maracas to upgrade two of Link's inventory stashes, before heading back toward his home in the Korok Forest. When found subsequently, either at a stable on the way or in Korok Forest itself, he will continue to use the maracas to upgrade Link's inventory (to a point) in return for ever-increasing numbers of seeds.
Age of Calamity
The Maracas are Hestu's initial weapon in Age of Calamity. They are later superseded by the improved Shaka Maracas and Shakalaka Maracas.

Trivia
- The Maracas are the only Key Items in Breath of the Wild that Link has to return and are irrecoverable. They are also of no use to Link while he holds them.
