Din's Fire is a type of Magic Spell that appears in Ocarina of Time. It is one of three spells Link can learn in the game.
Ocarina of Time
Like Farore's Wind and Nayru's Love, Din's Fire is bestowed upon Link by the Great Fairy of Magic. To obtain it, Link must first have completed Dodongo's Cavern and acquired bombs. Go to the area outside Hyrule Castle and follow the road until it splits. On the right side there is a sign saying "Dead end". There is also a boulder in front of Link. Throw a bomb at the boulder and go through the crawlway, into the Great Fairy's Fountain. Play Zelda's Lullaby on the Triforce symbol on the platform. The Great Fairy then appears and bestows Din's Fire upon Link.
When used, Din's Fire creates an expanding sphere of flames around Link, which damages nearby enemies, lights torches, burns away obstacles. It is necessary to enter the Shadow Temple by lighting the collection of torches found near the entrance, thus making this the only spell that is required to complete the game. Din's Fire will consume 6 MP magic power with each use.

Non-Canon Appearances
This section describes a subject that is or may be outside the core Zelda canon. |
Super Smash Bros. series
Din's Fire is Zelda's default side special move in Super Smash Bros. Melee, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U and Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. In the Smash series, it depicted as a thrown fireball whose path can be adjusted up and down and explodes on contact, rather than a sphere of fire around Zelda.
Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS and Wii U introduced two variant versions: Din's Flare, which is faster and has increased range, but has less vertical adjustment; and Din's Blaze, which has a bigger boom and more vertical adjustment, but is slower both in travel and time to explode.
