"A sword created by the finest Goron smithy who ever lived. It slices deep but requires immense strength to wield. Press the Strong Attack button to quickly dash into enemies!"

— In-game description

The Giant Blade is a weapon class used by Impa in Hyrule Warriors. It is Impa's default weapon class, as she begins the game with a Giant's Knife. While wielding it, Impa fights using a curved greatsword and by channeling water magic through the weapon.

Variations

  • Giant's Knife: The Level 1 variation. The greatsword has a straight, steel blade with a curve at the end, and white Goron markings along the side. The handle is gold, with a circular gold cross-guard and pommel. Named after the Giant's Knife from Ocarina of Time.
  • Biggoron's Knife: The Level 2 variation. The greatsword now has a curved design, with a serrated inner blade and white Sheikah eyes adorning the side. The handle is red, with a circular gold cross-guard and pommel.
  • Biggoron's Sword: The Level 3 variation. The greatsword has a curved, sleek design, with blue Sheikah markings adorned along the side; the handle is blue, with a slim, lighter blue cross-guard, a gold medal with the Goron emblem, and a gold pommel. Named after Biggoron's Sword from Ocarina of Time.
  • 8-Bit Boomerang?: The Level ★ variation. Impa wields a giant version of the Boomerang from The Legend of Zelda, rendered in 3D and attached to a plain black handle.
  • Biggoron's Sword +: The Level 4 variation. Appears identical to Biggoron's Sword.
  • Biggoron's Sunblade: The Level 4+ variation, which adds Hyrule Warriors Element Light.png Light as a secondary element. Appears similar to Biggoron's Sword, but with a bright yellow color scheme.

Attack Explanation
Base String? Impa performs a string of seven attacks; She swings left, smashes the ground, flips and smashes the ground again, flips and smashes the ground a third time, grinds forward on her blade, jumps into the air while kicking the blade up, and catches it before drilling into the ground.
C1? Impa dashes forward with a shoulder charge; If she collides with an enemy unit, Impa performs a wide left slash that knocks them back. The range of the dash can be slightly extended by holding the button.
C2? Impa performs a rising upward swipe that knocks enemies into the air; While airborne, this can be extended into an upward drill attack (Y/B) and a downward Spin Attack (X/Y), which can be used separately or in order.
C3? Impa backflips ahead, smashing her blade down to use as a lever.
C4? Impa forms a bubble of water in front of her, sucking enemies in, before popping it with a wide left slash, spraying water and knocking enemies back.
C5? Impa jumps into the air, forms a set of kunai out of water, and rains them down in the immediate area.
C6? Impa kicks her blade into the air, creating a magic circle around her, and forms four spare blades out of water, performing a wide slash ahead of her with each one.
Special Attack Impa readies herself, before performing a wide horizontal sweep in front of her.
Focus Spirit Finisher Manual: Impa flips her sheathed blade into the air, then as it falls, she catches the handle and performs a powerful vertical slash, firing a Sword Beam ahead of her.
Automatic: Impa smashes down, jumps into the air, and crashes back down, creating an explosion of water.
