March 27, The Nintendo 3DS is the fifth handheld video game console developed by Nintendo (tenth if the various iterations of the Game Boy, the Game Boy Advance, and the Nintendo DS are considered). The 3DS is essentially the DS with much more powerful hardware, comparable to that of the Wii. The handheld's most unique feature is its autostereoscopic screen—stereoscopic 3D can be viewed on the top screen without the use of special glasses.

Link's Awakening

On June 7th, 2011, at Nintendo's 2011 E3 Press Conference, it was announced that Link's Awakening would release on that date for the Nintendo eShop. The game was priced at $5.99 in the United States, $9 AUD in Australia, and £5.40 in the United Kingdom.
Four Swords Anniversary Edition

As part of the 25th Anniversary of The Legend of Zelda, Four Swords was re-released as the Four Swords Anniversary Edition. The game was available for free on the Nintendo DSi's and the Nintendo 3DS' online software stores between September 28th, 2011 and February 20th, 2012.
Virtual Console
The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link were re-released on the Nintendo 3DS on August 31st, 2011 as part of the Ambassadors program. These were 2 of the 10 NES titles that were given away for free to those who purchased the Nintendo 3DS at its initial retail price of $249.99.

The Adventure of Link

The Adventure of Link was later released for the Nintendo eShop in Europe on September 13th, 2012.
Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages

Oracle of Seasons and Oracle of Ages were released as Virtual Console titles in the 3DS eShop in Japan on February 27, 2013—the 12th anniversary of their original Japanese release on the Game Boy Color. The titles were released in other regions on May 30 with limited-time reduced price.
The Minish Cap

The Minish Cap was re-released in December 2011 as part of the Nintendo 3DS Ambassadors program. The Minish Cap was one of 10 Game Boy Advance titles to release as part of the program. Unlike the original The Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link, there currently are no plans on bringing this title over to the Nintendo eShop.
Zelda 25th Anniversary 3DS Nintendo 3DS Bundle
In November 2011, it was announced that there would be a The Legend of Zelda 25th Anniversary Limited Edition Nintendo 3DS Bundle released on November 24th, 2011 in the United States.
The bundle includes a special edition Zelda-themed Nintendo 3DS console as well as a copy of Ocarina of Time 3D. The bundle retailed for $199.99, but many retailers had the bundle available for $179.99 on day one to attracts customers into their stores on Black Friday.[1]
